Newspaper article of living history program at Bishop Druitt College

Celtic Thunder from the Australian Institute of Celtic Studies

Celtic Thunders living history programmes are designed to suit the curriculum that the students are studying. Since 2007 the team from Celtic Thunder have performed at a large number of both High Schools and Primary Schools, with amazing results.

Highly interactive with students and teachers alike you will see:

  • Real combat when Ray (a Scottish Highlander) duels with Colin, (an English Knight).

  • See a demonstration of the English long bow.

  • See students dressed as a Viking, Lady of the Manor, Medieval Monk, Peasant Boy & Peasant Girl.

  • Sword fights and skill participation for the students (foam swords and shields of course).

  • See an army (of students) descending on your village, armed with real Medieval weapons.

  • Hear real bagpipes (made in 1892), and watch the students go red in the face trying to blow them up.

Our standard performnace lasts for around two periods (or two hours), and we endeavour to be as authentic as possible with the clothing, living implements, musical instruments, swords and armour.

Whilst the show is action packed and interactive, there is nothing like being surrounded with the genuine article, to enhance the life of Medieval Europe and the U.K., in the minds of the students.

At a starting cost of only $10 per student (minimums apply), it is truly value for money. To enable your school to be apart of this amazing experience, please contact Ray & Colin on the contact details below:
